Madeleine Grattan

Madeleine Mauriac Grattan was born in Bordeaux, France. Her uncle, Francois Mauriac, was a Nobel Laureate in literature. She worked with the Resistance during World War II. After the war she married an American professor of English. She had finished an unpublished sequel to Jexium Island at the time of her death.
