The author takes a rather restricted view of what constitutes a ‘Scribner Illustrated Classic.’ It is bound in black cloth, has a paste on label on the front cover, title, author, illustrator and publisher are in gilt on the spine, it measures 24 to 25 cm in height, and there are at least four full-page color plates.
