Rose Wilder Lane

Only surviving child of Almanzo and Laura Ingalls Wilder, was born in De Smet, Dakota Territory. She became a successful novelist and one of the founders of the Libertarian movement. Her only child, a boy, died in infancy.

Devastated by drought, Laura and Almanzo Wilder give up their claim and move to Mansfield, Missouri.
