Helen Josephine Ferris

Helen Josephine Ferris was born in Hastings, Nebraska but her parents were both from Wisconsin and she spent most of her youth in the Badger state. After graduating from Vassar College she worked as an editor at American Girl and Guardian magazines. From 1929 to 1959 she was editor-in-chief of the Junior Literary Guild.
